Casa de Hall

The new Casa de Hall
We spent a couple of days in Huntsville prior to Sean starting school and John having to be in Virginia for ILE. Our goal was to get familiar with the area, and, if possible, find a home. I can say that we definitely achieved both goals with flying colors. We found a great house in a great area that was pretty much everything we wanted. It's not on acreage this time so no goats. It will also lessen the chances that John will injure himself.
For those of you who may not know, while putting up a fence for the goats, John managed to gash his head open with a post driver which required about 4 staples. And not only did he do this once, but he did it again several months later. (I told him I had a hard hat in the house, but did he use it? No.) And then to top it off, the day the packers were there, he managed to put a hole in his foot with a rusty piece of metal. Oh, and it was also the same day of his graduation. I'm beginning to think he isn't meant to be a country boy. Or perhaps he should listen to his wife, who does have a degree in safety, and do a hazard analysis before embarqing on seemingly innocent tasks.
Back to the house. It's a four bedroom, two and half bath, and yes, all of the bathrooms are inside. Our subdivision is of all new homes (no more remodeling!!!) is surrounded by Redstone Arsenal (where John will work) on one side and Wheeler Wildlife Refuge on the other two. We're not far from the Tennessee River, so I'm sure we'll have some visitors of the four legged and no legged kind. John will only have about a six minute drive to work and we're only half a mile from Sean's school. When we were looking at the house, we heard a very strange noise that we'd never heard before. We're used to hearing artiliary and C5's, but this was something new. When we asked, we were told is was NASA testing the rocket boosters for the space shuttle. Pretty nifty.
I am going to post a picture of the outside of the house, but if you want to see the inside you have to come visit. If you would like special dispensation, you may file a written request. Otherwise, we have plenty of room and expect to see all of you soon. You may e-mail me at wini_hall@yahoo.com with the date of your arrival.
