I doubt that in the future I'll post more than one time/day but this one is too good to not send today.
Sean spent the night several weeks ago with his friend, Cameron. It was Cameron's birthday and his mom, Cassie, asked if Sean could go to Charles Mouse (code for Chuck E. Cheese) with them and then stay the night. Sean was, of course, all for it.
As I was driving him to Charles Mouse, he began telling me a story about Chester Racoon. At first I thought he was talking about a movie, but then realized he was talking about a book that they had read in school. He told me that Chester did not want to go to school but that his mother, Mrs. Racoon, told Chester that sometimes we have to do things we don't want to (his words, not mine). He went on to tell me that Chester's mother took his hand and spread it into a fa-aan (Sean's a true Texan-he can make a one syllable word into two) kissed the middle of it and told him that whenever he got lonely or afraid that he should press his hand to his cheek and everything would be ok. Sean went on to tell me that Chester took his mother's "large, familiar hand" (I almost ran off the road in hysterics) and gave her a "kissing hand" too.
Since Sean was going to be gone that night, I asked him if maybe I could have a kissing hand because I might miss him. He thought for a second and said, "Yes, but we'll have to do it somewhere where there are no windows." I guess at the age of 5, I'm already not cool.

I love the blog and the pictures. What a great way to keep everyone informed without the worry of leaving someone out. Things are great in KY. Haleigh and I are going to the Harvest Moon Festival in Grand Rivers next weekend (don't get homesick) and are taking orders if you need anything from the area. Love you all and miss you. Jenny
What a great way to stay in touch. Love the pig-tails! Do you ever get too old to wear pig-tails, could I pull it off and look as good as Layla?
Guess who's behind the wheel with his learner's permit? yes William (aka Taylor) is learning to drive! We had to weigh him for his id ... at 15 - 145 lbs and 5'8" ... YEA I'm finally the skinny one!
When will you be in Austin next - would love to see you!
Can't help wondering if John did the pigtails. During our wonderful week on KY Lake in June, when I commented on John's skill in styling Layla's hair, he quipped, "When I retire, I can do hair at baby beauty pageants." Glad that Sean hasn't done his own hair lately. Am looking forward to more photos and news about my favorite nieces and nephews. Hugs and kisses to all of you.
